The Midland Metro at Great Bridge, photographed on Sunday 13th July 2025. In the foreground is the new bridge over the
Walsall Canal, and in the middle distance just short of the New Road overbridge is the Great Bridge tram stop. At this stage
the OLE terminated at New Road, although rails were down for a few hundred yards further on as far as the Horseley Road station.
For context the location of the former Eagle Crossing signal box was just out of shot to the bottom right of the frame, and
Great Bridge yard was off to the left accessed via the separate bridge over the canal which is adjacent to the new one and mostly
in shadow here.
